I am heading over to this game on Saturday. Unfortunately Margot cannot join me on this trip.
I was wondering if anyone else is planning a trip over for this one and is interested in meeting up before or after the game.
Cheers

Wont be travelling to this one but will have to make use of the Cork East Midlands service before Mr O Leary pulls the plug at the end of October.

You can get return flights to the midweek games against Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich from Cork for only 8 euro including credit card charge!!!!

Forest had lots of possession but seldom threathened. A key problem was the lack of penetration / attacking from our full backs.
Chambers looks to offer little at this level while young Heath has some development work to do before he is ready for this level.
I would look to replace both our full backs sooner rather than later.
Cohen was excellent yesterday. Tyson needs to hold the ball up better it was bouncing off him something awful.
The boos from some fans was a bit over the top in my view. Not a massive amount wrong with the team apart from the obvious full back issue. I read that we are looking for a loan signing at left back in one of the papers.
It is a test for Calderwood to address. The fact he subbed both his starting fullbacks shows he is aware of the problem. The question is what does he do to resolve it.

The problem is good left backs are few and far between, i have no idea who we can get in or who is even avaliable for that matter. We need to go 442, with Perch RB Wilson and Brecks CB Loaned LB. Chambers isnt good enough at this level and Wes is never far away from a disaster(even though the penalty was harsh).
The main problem at the moment is the formation being played, the 433 or 451 as it is, isnt working for us in this league, it isnt league one and teams wont stick 11 men behind the ball against us. The 3 man midfield is leaving the defence exposed and chambers is being done everytime someone runs at him. Earnshaw needs a partner up front with him he is prolific but needs someone to play off Cole would be perfect. Im sure CC will turn this around and our home form will be the key but we need to be beating teams like Burnley at home though.

I was over at the Burnley game also and if we're being brutally honest about the thing that starting 11 and formation will not keep us in this league. We do see plenty of the ball in and around midfield - mainly because we generally have more players there than the opposition - however creativity and penetration were nowhere in sight. We definately need support for Earnshaw and we also need McGugan back asap - whether Garner and Anderson make impacts when they get fit remains to be seen. Dont and never have really rated Lee Martin and he done nothing on Saturday to change my mind and why we're paying his wages instead of just playing McCleary is more than I know. Defensively we also have problems and need a right back - Perch could be the answer here but maybe not - De La Cruz is available and could be brought in although he is definately more effective as a wing back but has good experience in the SPL and Premiership and does get forward - which would be a rare treat for us. All in all its not all doom and gloom but changes and improvements required or it will be a very long season.

De la cruiz is available because he is crap!! useless de la cruise they called him at the villa!!
i saw Joe heath play pre season and he looked very poor and in my eyes wont make the grade.
Brendan maloney has dissapeared off the horizon all together and looks like he will be heading back to ireland.
i agree with you on pearch, our best right back by a mile, also agree that breckin, wilson, bennett arnt up to the grade either, as i said earlier on lads, we will do well to stay up this year:icon_mad:

I see we changed the starting full backs for the game against Preston.
Two things about it that worry me though
1) Neither of the replacements are fullbacks.
2) No effect on the result.
At least the fullback issue has been identified by the Manger. The solution looks no closer though.
Maloney or Perch need to get a run at full back. I would try Maloney as Perch appears to be doing OK in midfield. If Heath is worth a try at LB than surely Maloney has to be worth a try at RB given his greater experience.

hi Tom, I was at the Burnley game. I travelled up from Ipswich where I am working for a few months. Dont have regular access to the web so wasnt aware you were heading which is a pity. Hopefully, we can meet up at some match soon. QPR away is probably my next one.
For me , this was not a performance to build on the solid Reading one which i was at. We were clueless at the front alot of times the ball got up. However, I was impressed by Martin who was always looking to find a player and getting in some good crosses. With a bit of fine tuning, he will be another star. was also impressed by Heath. Disappointed by moussi, thought he was way down on the Reading performance and the chant "mooouussssi" was rarely heard. As for Andrew Cole coming in near the end, wandering around midfield, i will never know. As pointed out we are shaky at the back and hopefully, CC will get someone on loan to plug those gaps.
