07/02/2008 - Reds fans plan match protest
Nottingham Forest fans are planning a protest against the management of the club at this weekend's match with Milwall.
At least 123 fans have signed a petition against the way the club is being run. Some are threatening to protest at City Ground on Saturday while others plan to boycott the game. The petition says fans are unhappy at the "mismanagement" of the club from manager Colin Calderwood to chairman Nigel Doughty.
The protest follows Forest's recent run of results, which has seen them struggle to keep up with the League One promotion chasers.
One fan, who wanted to be known as just Steve, said: "I've been watching Forest for 20 years and just can't stand to see what is happening.
"It's like no one cares. We have had a succession of disappointing managers and something needs to change."
Paul Ellis, chairman of the official Nottingham Forest Supporters' Club, said: "I can understand how they feel. I am as frustrated as any Forest fan with the lack of progress."
But he added that he didn't believe the potential boycott was the right action.
