Yeah he played well it's seems that League 2 might suit him , I reckon we will loan him out for another few months & maybe get a few quid for him in the summer

Watched the 2nd half of this game last night. Young Brendan did well, great goal too, reckon he'll definetely make a good career in the game at some level. Only 19, so you never know how he'll do.

Those sponsored bootlaces definetely did the trick, judging by that piledriver at the death. Indeed I received a proud text (I thought it was the lad's father at first) from a Kerry based Munster branch member, around midnight last night saying Mr Calderwood should never have let him go! :D

Brendan played exceptionally well last night and is a very confident young man. I have no doubt whatsoever that he will make the grade. If Forest do release him, then they may well live to regret it. CC is a complete knob playing him out of position when he is the only natural right back at the club.

He played well in difficult conditions but sadly against a very poor team....i think Roachy only had one save to make and that was going wide.
He's only young yet and has time to develop but i think his future may well be away from the City Ground.

If his future is away from The City Ground it will be with a club better than Chesterfield or even Forest!! You are mixing him up with that pisshead Keith Foy. Brendan was drinking coca-cola at our bash during the summer and isn't addicted to the bookies either.

Hopefully the likes of Moloney will learn from the road Foy took, although i do remember Foy meeting us in Nottingham before he made the first team and would sip on his coca cola as well.
The evils of drink, drugs and many more evils await young players once they make the 1st team, have a few quid in their pockets and begin to make the headlines on the sports pages.

Only saw his goal but from the celebrations it looks like he's filled out a bit and certainly not as scrawny looking as he was against Bournemouth on the opening day of the season. Perhaps the club have got it right with him as he's been talked about for a year or two now, built him up and let him ply his trade at Chesterfield. Best if he stays there until the end of the season as will gain nothing in our reserves.
The chances are that if we don't go up (which is looking more likely by each away game!), that he'll be our right back next season. I can't see us keeping Breckin so that means Chambers will probably move to centre half along with Wilson.

Good to see One Decent also setting League 2 alight. There must be a fair big depth of class though in the division because as much as I think we should of kept Lester for one more season, there is no way he would as prolific with us in League 1. He still seems to have kept the beer gut though!!!

Gearoid one good game does defo not make a good player , now I'm not knocking Brendan but the other games he has played for chesterfield correct me if i'm wrong but they lost them & there was no mention of Bren playing a good game..I think he really needs to be away from forest to make a name for himself & to be given the proper chance for him to play in his correct position..IMO...

Kris Commons is KING

According to the Chesterfield forums, Moloney has done very well in all his games and they are desperate to sign him permanently.

No Commons in team tonight???????

Lets not write Brendan off yet as an alcoholic gambler, if he was English nobody would be mentioning the potential pit falls that young pro's have to avoid. I agree with Geroid, I think he has a future at Forest and this loan spell will do him the world of good. Even as it stands I would have him on the right side or right back in front of Perch when he's in there. I think his biggest problem could be Calderwood who appears even more clueless now than ever, whether it be tactically or in team selection.
