Cost £5,000 from Portadown. Not a ferocious tackler but preferred
to
jockey opponents away from danger. Not the fastest but supremely fit
with good ball control and passing. Debut away to Sheffield Wednesday
lost 1-5, December 1959 but kept place and was regular choice until Don
Howe was signed in 1964. Was then transferred to Brighton and moved into
coaching and management in Denmark.
